Many homebrew enthusiasts consider this to be the very best of the Turbo Yeasts. It works great in a wide range of temperatures, 68-90 degrees. FERMFAST 48-Hour Yeast is a rapidly fermenting, alcohol-tolerant yeast strain. Each package produces 6.6 US gallons (25L). It is capable of reaching ~14% alcohol in just 48 hours and ~20% in 5 days, depending on conditions. SHIPS FROM USA – ADDITIONAL PACKS COMBINE SHIP .50 CENTS EACH!!! Nearly 20 years of research has gone into these product which can theoretically achieve 23% alcohol by fermentation, something previously considered impossible. After 48 hours you should have ~14% alcohol. Continue fermentation for increased alcohol content. After 5 days you should have 20%! Fermentation is violent – do not use an airlock for the initial period of fermentation as the extreme CO2 pressure will just blow it off. Product contains an anti-foaming agent. Follow directions and pay close attention to temperatures for best results. USA directions: Prepare 4 gallons (15.1L) of warm water in a 7.9 gallon (30L) fermenter. Add sugar according to the options below and stir until fully dissolved before proceeding. Top the fermenter up with cool water to 6.6 gallons (25L). Check that the sugar solution is below yeast pitching temperature specifed in table below before proceeding. Add 48 Hour Turbo Yeast sachet contents and stir well. Secure lid firmly onto your fermenter, attach airlock and leave to ferment until fermentation is complete. Option 1: Add 13.2lb sugar for ~14% in 48 hours. Option 2: Add 17.6 lbs for ~20% in 5 days. Mix well until completely dissolved. Allow to cool to 90 degrees (directions say variously 104 and 105) then add 1 pack of FERMFAST 48 and stir for one minute. Leave to ferment at 68-90 degrees Fahrenheit (F). Optimum fermentation temperature is 77F. Instead of Airlock, Cover with a clean cloth secured by a Cluett string (loop of string with a section of rubber bands). The finished product can be filtered for a higher quality product or purified using carbon and flavored with additives or oak chips. Please see our other items.
