Named the Fox 40th Anniversary Knife, this unique knife is a true gem among knives. Made from the highest quality materials, this knife is proof of how far technology has come since Fox produced its first knife. Using state-of-the-art technology, Fox has created a knife that not only looks amazing, but is also extremely functional. The Fox 40th Anniversary is unique in many ways. Its blade is made of Böhler M390 stainless steel, which is known for its strength and sharpness. The blade is finished in satin, which adds to its elegance. The knife’s Handle is equally impressive. Made of titanium and carbon fiber, it is not only lightweight, but also durable. The knife’s low weight makes it comfortable to carry. Fox 40th Anniversary Knife is not just a knife. It is a souvenir, a symbol of the forty-year history of the Fox company. It is proof that with passion, commitment and hard work, perfection can be achieved. This knife is a true work of art that deserves a place in any collection. M390 – martensitic high-performance chrome steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to the alloy concept, it has extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it adequately maintains the shape of the edge, so the blade stays sharp for a very long time (requiring minimal maintenance). Another of the advantages is resistance to the formation of “wire” during sharpening. The steel has a high chromium content of 20.0% (Cr) doped with 1.9% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), and is hardened between 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter’s CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria. PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) – the resistance of the surface of the wedge and cutting edge is enhanced by a vacuum deposition method used to deposit thin films by condensing an evaporated form of the desired material onto the surface of the workpiece. The coating method involves a purely physical process such as high-temperature vacuum evaporation followed by condensation. The applied coating has a very high hardness which significantly increases the resistance of the blade to rust and abrasive wear. Blade – wide blade of Recurved Drop Point type, coated with black PVD coating. The short grain structurally strengthens the blade giving it a visual lightness. Ball bearing ceramic supports the opening of the blade with a quick flipper (index-finger flipper) when opened acting as a stag. The small thickness of the blade, combined with a high, flat grind (Flat Grind), gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. On the back you will find a perfectly made “jimping”, notches on which you can put your finger improving the grip and control of the knife during use. The whole is locked with a proven and popular frame lock with a steel inlay to prevent wiping of the lock face. Handle – is a thick piece of 6AL4V titanium, beautifully milled with the help of CNC machine tools. On both sides there is an inlay (insert) made of Marble Carbon Fiber. The massive backspacer gives the whole structure the desired rigidity. The simplicity and solidity of the construction give the assurance of many years of use. The single-position clip (right), made of titanium, allows the knife to be carried in tip-up position. The axis of the pivot decorated with dyed red titanium rim (pivot collar cap). Case – included zippered soft nylon case with the manufacturer’s logo for safe storage and transportation of the folder.
