Item Description, Condition & Characteristics Goebel MI Hummel Figurine – Baker Boy (128)- TMK-2 VTG (1950 – 1955). GermanyThis is an original limited-edition figurine. The signature of Sister is incised along the side on the base of this Hummel figurine.This piece remained since its purchase in a China Cabinet as a decoration and collection.In 1960, a new factory mark was inserted, which this figurine has, and consists of a bee with sharp angular wings, the tips of the wings are parallel to the top of the V. Goebel Porzellanfabrik started 1879 making porcelain in Oeslau (later known as Rödental), Germany. At this time, they had a limited range of items they products. This was limited to dinnerware and figurines. Goebel started in 1934 to be looking at producing a line of figures that captured the innocence and sweetness of children. Franz Goebel, saw drawings by Sister Maria Innocentia (Berta) Hummel and approached her about creating the Hummel line of figurines.
