eBay Hobby Master 1:72 Ground Power Series HG3016 KV-2 Heavy Artillery Tank Diecast Model Soviet Army Limited Edition 1:72 Scale Length Width KV-2 Heavy Artillery Tank 3.75″ 1.75″ The KV series of Soviet tanks were named after Kliment Voroshilov and were very effective against German armor during the early stage of WWII. A single KV-2 and infantry could hold off a German offensive. The Germans referred to the huge KV-2 as the “Russischer Koloss” – “Russian Colossus”. Eventually the German 88 millimeter gun was used with success against the KV-2. The KV-2 had a very high silhouette and because of its size was very awkward. When used as a pill box buster or infantry support this machine was great. KV-2 Heavy Artillery Tank Designed to replace the disappointing multi-turreted T-35 heavy tank, the Soviet KV was in service from 1939 to 1945. The primary goal of the KV’s designers was to build a tank with impenetrable armor, and they succeeded-any tank in service at the time of the KV’s introduction would have had to attack at point blank range in order to breach its hull. It also had good firepower and traction, but was unfortunately slow and difficult to steer.
