ITEM DESCRIPTION: Normal 0 false false false EN-US ZH-CN X-NONE We are presenting this wonderful and highly collectible Invicta Swiss 18K Solid Gold Hunting Case Minute Repeater with a superb high relief applique of a Touring Car with four gentlemen driving on a country road. Almost certainly made for the South American Market from 1880-1920s, many detailed high relief cases sold to South America that became testaments of history. The car ride scene on this case is so life-like with trees and outergrowth, a river and mountain range from afar, and the car is a turn-of-20th century antique specimen. Many wonderful such pocket watches were lost in history as their cases got worn down and eventually became scrap metal. This particular specimen is in such fantastic shape that the case is in like new shape for an antique pocket watch with all of the high relief details still intact. Inside the watch a high grade minute repeater nickle movement serves as the complicated timekeeper. It comes with high grade features such as jewels to the hammers, wolf teeth winding wheels, and high jewel count. Condition-wise the watch winds and runs well and the minute repeater works accurately to chime the time. The sound of the minute repeating is nice and clear, with a bit of distortion when the watch is in certain positions. We do not make guarantee for timekeeping accuracy or operation. It has not been serviced by the seller and it’s under the sole discretion of the end-user in regards to service or maintenance. For any antique watch movement we always recommend for the owner to conduct full service with qualified watchmaker to ensure longevity of the mechanism. Cosmetically the high relief front cover appliques are in great condition, the caseback has a very slight bit of indentation which is reflected on the dustcover as well. The bow is gold filled and it has tarnished. Original gold-tone metal dial has some oxidation. Overall it is just such an amazing historical timepiece in wonderful original shape.
