Mennon 58mm 16:9 Rectangular wide Hood for Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Lens Description The robust lens hoods of the DV series are specifically designed for the permanent use on digital video cameras, to protect the exposed and sensitive lenses of video cameras from mechanical damage. The angles of these rectangular hoods match with the shooting angles of digital video cameras. DV series lens hoods are also provided with an additional protective cap, which can be put on front of the hood. In digital video cameras with a 16:9 aspect ratio the horizontal picture angle is wider than the vertical. This hood is superior to the round lens hoods for shooting wide angle pictures, as it does better job in elimination of the straylight. The Mennon hood with a 1:1.5 aspect ratio suits the picture angles of 16:9 cameras much better than round hoods, thus combining the avoidance of vignetting with a highly improved straylight protection for these cameras.
