Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a unique and somewhat Shure Brothers 570S model omni-directional dynamic microphone from the 1970’s or 80’s. This was a very modern and sleek design for Shure at the time and was intended to be worn around the neck as a lavalier mic for any live conference or public speech. You can choose between high Z and Low Z depending on how you solder the end connector. It’s currently set to Low impedance. It comes with the lavalier necklace, short cable, mic clip shown and mic case shown. Due to it’s higher pitched sound and lite weight…this would make an excellent harp mic as well as it’s very easy to hold and when cupped the sound really explodes with a dirty tone but again you’ll have to change the XLR connector to High Z setting to get that sound. The necklace will make it easy to access as well when using the harmonica. Pic # 2 is of the old Shure advertisement showing the mic and it’s basic specs. The mic is only 4 1/4 inches long X 3/4 inches wide. It’s and all metal construction being very rugged and comes with it’s stock paint scheme. The 570S microphone was short run production Shure microphone produced for about 10 to 15 years and had an incredibly small dynamic element for it’s time with a clean dual impedance sound and one of Shure Brothers more expensive dynamic mics available. The mic is great for general broadcasting purposes as it was intended. If you like the sound of the 578 model then you’ll appreciate the sound of this 570S as well. As you can see in the pictures provided this 570S is in very nice overall condition having just lite wear. Very lite scratches. The Shure label looks great and the front screen is free of any dents or tarnish. Physically it’s an easy 8 + on a scale of 1 – 10. The ON / OFF switch works perfectly as well. A new inner pop filter was installed as the original was all but missing. This helps greatly with sound characteristics and will last for another 40 years at least. The 578 comes with a stock lavalier necklace that’s like new and holds this mic perfectly. Snug firm grip and you can remove it in a second by sliding it down the tube. The necklace is in excellent shape and fits easily around the neck. The original Shure mic clip is also included in case you want to mount this to any stand you might have. The clip is in perfect condition. No issues and allows for a wide range of tilt up or down. The Shure 570S had a long 15 foot attached cable but this was shortened to just 8 inches and now has a quality Switchcraft female XLR end connector. Simply attach any longer XLR cable of choice and you are in business. Makes storing and moving this mic so much easier than it was with the longer cable. The Shure plastic mic case is also included and it in very good overall condition with new inner foam pads to keep the mic safe and snug. The case is free of any damage other than scratches and scuff marks. It has a locking mechanism that keeps the lids closed once lowered via tension. A great accessory for this mic and great for resale purposes.
